UNDERGRADUATE SECTION

ANNUAL CURRICULUM

UNDERGRADUATES:  100 STUDENTS PER YEAR

The undergraduate curriculum involves teaching of 3 subjects:
1) Dental materials (restorative aspect)
2) Conservative Dentistry: Involves preclinical and clinical exercises
3) Endodontics

  • II-year BDS
    • Dental materials –deals with chemistry, physical properties, manipulation, and recent development of various restorative materials.
    • Preclinical operative Dentistry
  • III-year BDS
    • One theory class per week

 

    • Clinical postings they learn
  •  Class I cavity preparations followed by restoration of the same with amalgam
  •  Deep caries excavation followed by Indirect pulp capping
  •  Class II cavity preparations followed by amalgam restoration
  •  GIC Class V restorations
  • IV-year BDS
    • 2 theory classes per week
    • Clinical postings they learn
      • Class II cavity preparations followed by restoring the same with amalgam
      • Anterior R.C.T
      • Composites and GIC restorations

INTERNSHIP:

  • Management of O.P.D.
  • Class I, Class II, Class III, IV, V restorations with amalgam, GIC & composites as indicated
  • Management of deep carious lesions & temporary restorations
  • Root canal treatments 

ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME-

  • Periodic viva and exams are conducted

Programs for UG students
-Conferences for UG students- Odontoplexus nexgen an intercollegiate -colleges in and around Bangalore participated.
-CDE program and hands on course in esthetic restorations, root canal treatment
