With this in mind the department has all the infrastructural facilities and the dedicated teaching faculty, which makes the teaching learning student centric. The lecture methods, interactive teaching, project based learning, evidence based learning etc helps the students to understand the subject thoroughly. The department has some in inbuilt mechanisms like mentor system, identification of slow and advanced learner, academic calender, intensive clinical training etc in accordance with the constituent university.

Department of Periodontology is one of the renowned department having all the latest equipments and instruments such as the Florida probe for assessing periodontal status, Piezosurgery Unit for hard tissue incisions, Centrifuge Machine for plasma concentrate, Tissue Laser(Diode Laser) for painless and bloodless surgery, Periotron 8000 for GCF assessment, Iontophoresis unit for treating hypersensitivity, Sinus lift kit(direct and in-direct), Physio-dispenser and Implant surgical kit for Implant procedures, Electrocautery unit, RVG X-ray unit, Implacare kit for maintainence of implants, Microsurgical instruments and Surgical loupes for plastic surgeries and Intraoral Camera.

The specialty clinic in Periodontics deals with periodontal medicine that deals with the effect of systemic health on the periodontal tissues and vice versa.
